The present, position and task in studies on contents of Korean language education

Abstract

This paper surveyed doctorial theses presented of late and investigated their fruits by now and tasks to be resolved in the future. Studies on the language education are developed gradually. In the early period, studies on vocabulary and structure of language are presented abundantly. In the middle period, studies on constructional principles of discourse(text) are presented abundantly. In resent period, studies on language activities are presented abundantly. Studies on the literary education are developed gradually too. In the early period, studies on educational value in particular genre and ideology in literary text are presented abundantly. In the middle period, studies on methods of receiving literary text are presented abundantly. In resent period, studies on writing methods are presented abundantly. In spite of eye-popping development, there are still many tasks left. Lighting up the overlap and division between language education and literary education, taking shape strategies of language use, selecting educational contents in cultural perspectives, reconstructing contents on the basis of thinking skill, collecting experiences which is ought to be offered to students and so on are examples of these tasks. For developing studies on contents of korean language education, we must resolve these tasks.
