How to Establish Speaking Education Goals

Abstract

Now our speaking education has problems to exclude human, concentrate on private speaking, mimic writing education. These problems are caused to the absence of speaking education goals. The present study on speaking education goals are not enough to solve these problems. So how we establish speaking education goals. This study derive speaking education goals from speaking's essential characteristics as one proposal. Speaking's essential characteristics which this study suggest are ‘the nature of oral language, the process simultaneously to express and understand, private and social behaviors, instrument and culture.’ On the basis of these speaking's essential characteristics, this study proposes speaking education goals as follows. First, to express one's thought accurately and effectively as individual·psychological speaking. Second, to form desirable relationship with other person and to solve the problems through conversations as social·cultural speaking. Third, to mate one's utterances with one's behaviors as ethic speaking. Fourth, to feel pleasure through speaking as aesthetic speaking.
