Abstract
Exploring Principles and Devices for Korean Writing PedagogyKim, Ho-jungThe purpose of this study is to examine shifts in pedagogical focus on L2 writing and to search for principles and devices of L2 writing pedagogy. Approaches to L2 writing pedagogy can be categorized according to the four foci, each of which can be linked to a particular school of thought:‘focus on form’, ‘focus on the writer’, ‘focus on content’, and ‘focus on the reader’. Based on these approaches, some principles are presented, which are focusing on learners, procedures of writing, knowledge about genre, and interaction between writers and readers. Furthermore, devices for developing lesson plans are proposed, which are intended to realize multidrafting, lively interacting, and providing feedback from macrolevel concerns to microlevel features of texts.
