Abstract

This study examines policy evaluation in Korean language education, focusing on performance assessment. being connected with the Korean language education, we have three points at issue. Firstly, the actual spot of school is in a state of disorder with regard to the method of performance assessment, because the concept of performance assessment is obscure. Secondly, the performance assessment indifferently is appled to every subject while neglecting characteristic education methods and assessment methods in each subject. Thirdly, we don't make continued effort to establish the performance assessment in Korean language education. We have to do the following three efforts to solve theses problems. Firstly, it is necessary to make the instrument of performance assessment, which is fit for the purpose of Korean language education. Secondly, it is necessary to be made constant efforts in the school as well as the academic world. Thirdly, we must remove the contradictions among policy-evaluations. Policy Evaluation can undergo changes according to social changes. But if such being the case, we must fill the role of establishing the performance assessment in order to develop the Korean language education.
