Abstract
This study explores the boundary where the meeting area of the text, Poetry and the audience to understand what are happening in this area. And, this study considered the movie as the product of the question and self-answer of the problem, “what is the poetry?”. The problem is an axiological one, because that involves values of the poetry in the present situation. In this study, I tried to describe actions of the text and operations of it’s power to the audience. In the opening sequence, the text shows the title and a dead body in parallel, the peaceful riverside in the background. The impressive opening sequence is effective for giving the question of values of poetry in the present of dying. The unattractive heroine, Mija has two goals to achieve in the narrative, the one is to write a poet, and the other is to solve the problem of a girl’s suicide in which her grandchild was complicit. But, she is looked so week to deal well with them. The narrative of “Poetry” has two courses, same as two goals of heroine. Courses are seemed separated in two, till the collision of them. But, after the slightly missed collision, two course are closely connected. And, in the Mija’s poet, they conflate with each other, making the message for the answer of the axiological problem.
