Abstract
Ordinary language is sometimes unclear and vague. The fuzzy theory deals with degree of uncertainty. A lot of controversial social issues stem from a crisp manner that puts emphasis on a sound judgement. It is very dangerous to believe that there should be only one solution to a social problem. Many people have a dichotomous way of thinking, and it is because they only acknowledge the numerical fuzzy value of 1 and 0. This study explains the difference between the conventional approach and the fuzzy approach for controversial social issues suggesting a new perspective on analysis and education of argumentative tests. The analysis of a text through fuzzy logic has made a significant difference from that of dichotomous approach for the text. The difference represents that people tend to commit the error of making a rash generalization regarding a social issue. It is imperative that we should regard argumentative texts as a fuzzy system where many variables can be found. It is unreasonable to assert that only clear logic should be acceptable ruling out the possibility of obscure features of human mind.
