Abstract
Kant’s “subjective purposefulness” and “reflective judgment” aspects of his aesthetic perception provide an effective method for appreciating Hwang Dong-gyu’s poems; moreover, individual works demonstrate the efficiency of the actual process of appreciation. This study attempts to present the appreciation method by emphasizing readers’ intact appreciative power through an analysis of readers’ subjective emotion, their image formation in relation to their emotion, and their composition of images, which also integrates their emotion. In addition, this study concentrates on the process of inferring and integrating meaning through “reflective judgement,” the process of creating playful images that is induced by the emotional refreshment of the soul, and the reconstruction of integrated images.
