Abstract
This paper revisited the curriculum of universities of education related elementary Korean language teacher education(CUTE) based on its purpose, organization, operation, and evaluation. It is necessary to add teachers’ expectation that are embodied in phronesis (meaning practical wisdom) in addition to the current competency-based approach. We suggest developing convergence subjects, expanding the roles liberal arts subjects, and strengthening the extra curriculum. Non-face-to-face classes should be maintained at about 25% of total classes following the COVID-19 pandemic with blended, flipped, and PBL learning. Moreover, course contents must also be renewed. Finally, a new system that is led by academy to evaluate CUTE should be introduced as well.
