Abstract

This study empirically analyzes the impact of strategic alliances of venture firms in Korea's Internet industry on business performance measured by initial public offering (IPO). The empirical results show that the size and efficiency of Internet ventures' alliance networks, as well as alliances with leading overseas Internet firms, have a positive effect on these ventures' IPOs. These results suggest that the effective use of strategic alliances plays an important role in creating competitive advantages in the Internet industry as well.
