교육과정에 대한 도전의 시기, 국어과 교육과정의 내용과 표상 방식에 대한 성찰

초록

이 연구는 교육 환경이 빠르게 변화하고 교육에 대한 세계적인 담론들이 쏟아져 나오는 상황을 교육과정에 대한 도전의 시기로 진단하고, 국어과 교육과정의 내용 연구와 개발을 위해, 타국의 자국어 교육과정의 내용 체계를 개괄적으로 살펴보고 통찰을 얻고자 했다. 그 과정으로 캐나다 온타리오 주 교육과정, 호주의 국가 수준 교육과정, 미국의 CCSS, IB MYP를 비롯하여 몇몇 국가들의 내용 체계 구분을 살펴본 결과 하위 내용 영역들 간에 통합성, 연결성을 지향하며, 언어 기능들이 지식과 유기적으로 연결되어 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 외국의 일부 자국어 교육과정은 역량을 구체적으로 구현하고자 하며, 영역을 통합적으로 재편하는 등 변화의 움직임을 보였다. 또한 교육과정이 디지털 플랫폼화되면서 구체적이고 풍부한 자원이 연결되어 있는 것을 확인하였다. 이는 우리나라 교육과정 개발에도 고무적인 일이 될 것이다.
