Abstract

Improvement for the problems of the seventh National Korean curriculum in Elementary schoolLee, Kyeng-hwaThe seventh national korean curriculum is very ideal in principles. But if the theory cannot reflect or influence the reality, there is a possibility of misinterpretation which is directed to the wrong direction that is isolated from the reality. And it will produce many cases of misapplication in actual teaching. This thesis focused on finding the problems that can be caused while practicing the seventh national korean curriculum and suggested improments. The problems which can be produced in practicing the seventh national korean curriculum are originated in many areas such as application of the great unit system, level instruction, and the assessment of learning. The methods to solve these problems are as belows. First, the teacher must have the ability to reconstruct the national korean textbook. Second, permanent service branch office is necessary to support the application of national korean curriculum. Third, Various supplementary and deeping materials including Instruction textbook for the teachers and level instruction method should be offered. Forth, teacher training program about the seventh national korean curriculum, textbook, and the level instruction should be widely operated. Fifth, we should develop training textbook for the parents to help to understand differentiated curriculum. In order to settle down the national korean curriculum into the classroom properly, the curriculum should be so constructed as it is possible what the curriculum itself intended can be melt down into the textbook, actualized in real teaching process. And it is also essential that the teachers fully understand these korean curriculum and textbook, and can practice them properly in the classroom.
