Korean Subject Curriculum as an Educational Policy

Abstract
This paper investigated the Korean subject curriculum(KSC) as an educational policy. Policy groups use KSC as a means to obtain political goals or actualize their ideology. Specially, this paper developed policy study frame of KSC, analyzed the educational policy represented national KSC documents, and suggested the Korean subject's objective and ideology. Study frame of KSC as an educational policy is consist of two factors, KSC contents and policy process. The former is divided with ideology, objectives, content, and method. The latter is divided with development, actualization and evaluation. Nowaday Korean social and cultual situation are rapidly changing. So, new ideology and objective of Korean subject are needed. This paper suggested ‘Korean language development, Korean culture creation, and social integration’ as a KSC's ideology, and ‘the student ability of language use and building emotion of students’ as objectives of KSC.
