Debate Education of CEDA Method Using Micro Debate Based Learning(MDBL)

Abstract

In the CEDA(Cross Examination Debate Association) debating model, the students are likely to feel that the method is too complicated for them. It takes more than 70 minutes, which makes it difficult to use the method in classroom. More effective teaching and learning model for students to learn the CEDA debating model procedure is required so that the CEDA debating model can be put to use in each class. In other words, Leaning about Debate is a prerequisite for Learning through Debate. This study presented Micro Debate Based Learning Micro for CEDA debating model as a learning method and verified its educational effect. The result of the verification showed a statistically meaningful difference between the group that did not have Micro Debate at all and the group that did once.
