This study explores properties of connotation in poetry-education. Connotation makes poetic words ambiguous and ambiguity of poetic words makes its sense or meaning plentiful. Connotation in poetic words can give readers new sense and interpretation of the world. But readers often feel difficult in reading poetry cause of connotation in poetic words. To understand the connotational sense of poetic words, readers have to struggle to represent emotion or attitude for the poetic object. Because connotation means that the poetic words get additional or alterative sense. Connotations need reader’s divergent process of thinking for representing the sense of words. Therefore, in the class of poetry- education, teachers have to secure plenty of time to make intercommunication that can evoke specific senses through the literature- reading discourse. In this way, students could get new meaning or deepen their own sense for the world.
