Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the type and the selection method of vocabulary for teaching for North Korean Refugees. For this, this study investigated the 3 characteristics of vocabulary education for North Korean Refugees: the purpose, the characteristic and the subject of vocabulary education for North Korean Refugees. The type of vocabulary for teaching is 1) vocabulary with different form in the South and North, 2) vocabulary with different meaning in the South and North, 3) vocabulary with different use in the South and North, 4) vocabulary which only use in South Korea. This study emphasized that it is need to use objective method and subjective method for selection vocabulary for teaching. When we select vocabulary for teaching, it is need to consider of frequency of use in South Korea, the degree of communication disorder and education difficulty. This study emphasized that lexical parallels using dictionary of the South and North, analysis of real language material of North Korea and collection of subjective experience case of North Korean Refugees for selection vocabulary for teaching.
