The aim of korean subject is to bring up students’ textual abilities. So the main task in compiling korean textbook is to select proper materialtexts. The purpose of this paper is to scrutinize requisites for materialtexts of korean subject. First of all, material texts of korean subject should contribute to accomplishinstructional objects. They call it as inclination to object. Materialtexts should be suit to educational contents and developmental propertiesof students. Second, material texts of korean subject should haveinclination to value which encourages mental growth and which transmitscultural heritages. Finally, material texts of korean subject shouldhave inclination to harmony which contains balance and hierarchy. Unlikeinclination to object and inclination to value which are requisites indimension of individual text, inclination to harmony is requisite in dimensionof inter-text. We can use these requisites in various times when we compile textbooksof korean subject, when we select one among them, and when weselect various reading materials other than textbooks.
