This study is purposed to identify the intrinsic qualities and type of misreading literature in literature education. The type of misreading is to identify by exploring the concept and characteristics about misreading of literature. Reading literature is one of the communication process between invisible writer and readers. In the process of reading literature, the author’s primal meaning meets readers’ creative experience. Thus, the reader produces endless configurations and misreading. Reading literature is related the deconstructive reading rather than constructive reading. Because it is a process of endless misreading between blind statement and insightful meaning. Each misreading begins to communicate by dispersion, cohesion, combination, expansion. This view is the foundation of active, productive reading beyond the mere passive reading in literature education.
