Problems and Improvement of Korean Language Education Test for Elementary School Candidates

Abstract

Paper-based evaluation began in 1990. They pose four problems. First, questions are becoming reading items. Second, there is a tendency to query simple knowledge. Third, there are several non-practical items. Fourth, there are several short answer items, so these evaluations are not assessing student’s thinking ability. To solve these problems, the following improvements are required. The principle of improvement plans should ensure is the evaluation’s validity. Subsequently, the question have to be redesigned, and the studying style that focuses on memorization ability by constructing a question without a correct answer, needed to be altered. Finally the ability to solve the problems that may arise in the field of Korean language education through critical and creative thinking, considering the prophetic validity.
