Abstract

This study analyzed the Japanese writing test model items included in the “Common Test for University Admissions” in Japan and studied the implications of the test characteristics on the evaluation methods in Korea. It analyzed the significance of introducing the writing test items in education reform in Japan, the composition of the writing test items, and the characteristics of evaluation criteria and methods. Through this analysis, we ascertained the characteristics of the writing test items and the implications of what language abilities are emphasized through writing test items. Through this study and subsequent efforts, we hope to contribute to developing the educational field in Korea.
