디지털 텍스트 탐색 과정에서 나타나는 고등학생 독자들의 읽기 행동 분석

초록

이 연구는 학습자들의 디지털 텍스트 읽기 활동 빈도에 비해 그들의 읽기 역량이나 수준이 그리 높지 않은 현 상황에 문제를 제기하고, 학습자들의 디지털 텍스트 탐색 양상을 분석하여 이를 바탕으로 교육 방향을 제안하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 고등학생 독자 9인의 디지털 텍스트 탐색 과정을 행동적 근거를 바탕으로 ‘정보 접근, 정보 검색, 정보 조망, 정보 선택 및 배제’로 구분하고, 그들의 읽기 양상을 질적으로 비교 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 정보 접근, 정보 검색 단계에 비해, 정보 조망, 정보 선택 및 배제 단계에서 독자 집단 간의 차이점이 두드러졌다. 특히, 과제 해결적 측면, 저자 및 출처 측면, 비판적 점검 및 평가 측면에서 두 집단의 특성이 분명히 구분되는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 디지털 텍스트 탐색 교육의 방향을 제언하였다. 매체 논의가 다시 활성화되는 현시점에, 이 연구가 학습자들의 디지털 텍스트 읽기 역량을 높일 수 있는 실제적인 교육 내용 및 방법 구안에 참고 자료로 사용되길 바란다.
