Analysis of the Contents' Quantity for Korean Language Curriculum and Textbooks

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide basic data about contents' quantity in Korean language education for new curriculum and the textbooks. To satisfy the purpose of the study, it conducted 1) a nationwide questionnaire to get opinions from teachers. 2) the analysis of the 7th National Korean language curriculum, current Korean language textbooks. This study consists of five sections as follows: the first chapter introduces the current problems of the contents of Korean language education in primary, middle, and high schools. The second chapter analyses the outcome that we would conduct a questionnaire about the curriculum and textbooks. Concretely, we analyzed out 9 units of the primary, 21 units of the middle and 9 units of the high schools textbooks. The third chapter analyses both in quality and in quantity contents' quantity of the curriculum and textbooks. Concretely, we analyzed out measure, curriculum contents, goals, activities, time, texts' difficulty and so on. The four chapter proposed some suggestions from the analysis results of the questionnaire, the curriculum & textbooks. The five chapter described finish of this study.
