Evaluation on the 7th National Curriculum ‘Korean Language’ Subject Matter andDirections of Better Revision

Abstract

National curriculum(NC) must revised on the bases of evaluation about ‘planning→adaptation→outcome’ of currently adapting curriculum. We can determine directions of revision on the bases of academic critiques and clarify of revision objects on the bases of evaluation on the curriculum adaption process. NC Revision process is deliberation and consensus process. As a result, NC must revise on the bases deliberation and consensus of korean language subject matter specialist and teacher, student, parents, social community leader. And there is lots of problem for the decision making about NC. Example, there is problems on identification of korean language education, reflection of demands and needs of social and individual dimension, selection of essential learning elements, determination of content standards and scope and sequence, teaching & learning and evaluation principle and methods etc. NC revision on the 7th national curriculum establish two standards, one is content standards the other is performance standards for korean language education. And next NC must lay a cornerstone on the classroom teaching and learning reform direction. So that, we must inquiry the problems of korean language curriculum, decision make about objectives, contents, pedagogy, assessment of korean language education for the future generation rationally and reflectively.
