Abstract
The curriculum is the project for the future and the prospection toward the future. Its project and prospection are realized in the contents of each subject's curriculum. The curriculum of the Korean language education have some serious problems. Above all, the stratum of curriculum, goal and aim etc. are not evident, and the concrete conception about the competence of Korean language use is not compatible with the results of a lot of research. Therefore, this monograph was designed to direct the development of curriculum contents, the concept of grade, the style of presentation, the principle of contents. The contents of curriculum were divided into the listening/speaking, reading/writing, viewing/shaping, and the concept of grade was presented not by micro-level, but by macro-stage. In addition, the style of presentation should be expressed with the comprehensive and accumulative style. To add to this style, standards of accomplishment should be presented to the stage of competence. Furthermore, the systemic principle of contents should be set up according to the correctness, appropriateness, creativity, and to the principle of each language activity.
