Abstract
I discussed why we need to analyze text with a view of systemic functional linguistics for Korean language education. For this purpose, I presented the basic view of systemic functional linguistics and discussed transitivity as linguistic realization of ideational meaning. Transitivity is composed of participant, circumstance and verb. As the processes of transitivity in Korean language, there are behavioral, mental, existential, attributive processes. In the analysis on sample text, mental and behavioral processes were mainly selected, which suggests the typical feature of persuasive text. The analysis also suggested that we should utilize more behavioral process than mental for accenting subject's actional trait. I asserted that we need to teach students so that they can use language considering the function of transitivity in specific context
