A Study of Effective Interview Using Storytelling Approach for Interviewee

Abstract

An Interview is a discourse consisting of questions and answers, therefore the most critical contents of an interview are how to present questions and how to answer them. From the learner's perspective, they have greater desires to know different methods of answering questions. For that reason, this paper focuses on the answering method using storytelling approach during a job interview. Storytelling has been used in multi field. We discuss that by storytelling, we try to find modern value as one source multi use in classical literature, the context oriented education in Korean education and the strategy of persuasion in writing, conversation. Thus storytelling can be discussed in paradigm of Korean education as it shows communicative competency related to social situation in the form of discourse. It is more effective to use storytelling approach because it is easier to remember and results in stronger impression and persuasion when compared to an answer providing facts plainly. This paper presents how to choose contents, how to organize, and how to evaluate storytelling.
