Adopting SMART Learning for Korean as Foreign and Second Language

Abstract
SMART Learning is emerging. There is no settled definition about SMART Learning yet because it is in the embryonic stage. However, synthesizing various discussions about SMART Learning we can conceptualize it. SMART Learning is a paradigm and learning system at the same time. SMART Learning makes students learn autonomously in compliance with their needs, levels and aptitude through collaborative and individual learning using technologies. Currently SMART Learning for Korean can be implemented with some Apps and podcasts. It is hopeful that there is lots of apps and podcasts for learning Korean as foreign and second language. However, we need to consider some points for the effective convergence of SMART Learning and Korean education as below. First we should develop various formations of apps and podcasts. Also we should think of various uses of contents and specialized contents according to learners' purpose of learning and learning items. New ways of SMART Learning using existing technologies should be devised. Lastly Korean teaching professionals should be award of the age of SMART Learning and should cooperate with SMART Learning professionals while studying deeply into the effects and variables of it continuously.
