Abstract

The purpose of this paper was to suggest strategies for realizingsmart learning in teaching Korean as a foreign/second language. I redefinedthe terminology firstly. ‘SMART Education’ is a teaching andlearning system pursuing values such as collaboration, autonomy andinteractivity. Meanwhile, ‘smart learning’ is a type of learning using smartdevices and infra. Next, I suggested three ways to adopt smart learningfor teaching Korean: exploiting the existing devices and infra, developingnew smart learning contents and modifying existing contents into smartlearning contents. For the each way I showed practical options for teachingKorean classes. We lastly suggested the followings for the furtherstudies; effects of smart learning in teaching Korean language, types ofteaching-learning activity and principles of modifying various contentsinto smart learning contents.
