Abstract
The purpose of the study is to review the revising process, content and background of the grammar section in 2015 revised Korean curriculum. I first reviewed the impact of the revising process, which includes revising cycle, revising period, and organizing research team, on the curriculum. Focusing on the names of the selected subjects and educational contents, I, then, investigated characteristics of the 2015 revised curriculum which made it different from the existing curriculum. Lastly, I mentioned what to contemplate to make better curriculum for future reference. National curriculum reflects ideology of the community about the target subject and defines the goals, scope, and contents of the target subject in the school system. Therefore there should be enough time for preparation and it is to be made up by combining ideas from teachers, students, and researchers of the target subject. In this perspective, this critical review on 2015 revised Korean subject curriculum may have implications for revising curriculum in the future.
