Abstract
In preparation for the full-scale implementation of the high school credit system in 2025, this study aimed to examine the current status of the high school credit system operation in Finland, the UK, and Germany, with a focus on native language education, and to derive implications for Korean language education to stabilize the high school credit system. To this end, the search direction and analysis elements for the comparative analysis of high school credit systems in the three European countries were established, and the principles and operational peculiarities that affect the selection of subjects were examined focusing on the native language curriculum. Based on the results of the analysis, the direction and tasks of Korean language education for the stable implementation of the Korean high school credit system were proposed in terms of planning, operation, and evaluation.
