Abstract

This study examined how Korean language is being taught abroad. Instructors teaching Korean language in China and Germany say that they have difficulty preparing for classes because of the sensitive learners. As infectious diseases spread around the world, the efforts made in the educational field required a variety of academic approaches. Therefore, the researcher observed and investigated how the instructor’s theoretical knowledge was applied to the actual classroom. For the reliability and validity of the research, the researcher collected data through various research methods (triangulation) for a more objective study. Instructors form cognitive structures by interacting with learners, and they can be divided into three types by triangulation. As a result of this research, two instructors were analyzed as the third type focused on learning and understanding. This is connected to the reason why instructors affirm the story-based teaching method. In the future, it is hoped that the results obtained by investigating and analyzing instructors’ practical knowledge will be used in the training of pre-service teachers and in practical education programs.
