Abstract
This study examines the results-oriented educational perspective in education, highlighting it as the most flawed educational approach and identifying its key problems. It reflects on how Korean language educa- tion has not deviated significantly from this result-oriented educational perspective. The study further explores novel directions for Korean lan- guage education to enable it to diverge from the results-oriented educa- tional perspective and preserve the essence and value of education. The envisioned learner, language competencies, goals, achieve- ment standards, and specific learning objectives outlined in the Korean language curriculum should serve as tools and foundations for effective Korean language education, not as end goals. Korean language education must evolve to foster the potential value of education, allowing students to fully engage with their passion for teaching and learning. It is neces- sary to reflect on how Korean language education can enhance its educa- tional impact and continually build upon existing strengths.
