Direction of the Korean Language Education Curriculum in the Era of SMART Education —Based on the principles of respect for human life and cooperation of language and communication—

Abstract
This study intended to suggest the direction that the Korean languageeducation curriculum should go forward to in the intrinsic attributes oflanguage and communication paying attention to the aspects that SMARTeducation not only enhance students’ adaptability to the information andcommunication technology society but also set self-initiative and independentlearning ability as important values, and regardless of changes in paradigmsof society and education, Korean language education is a coursedealing with language and communication all the time. From the point ofview where characteristics of human are in language and communication,and the language and communication work by the ethical principles suchas respect for human life and cooperation, it is discussed that Korean languageeducation in the era of SMART education should be reformed to thedirection that the principles could be realized in. The goals of the Korean language education curriculum should includeunderstanding of language and human who exists as a languageand awareness of ethical characteristics of language and communication,and in order to achieve them, the content for fostering ethical awarenessof language and collaborative communication attitudes should be enhanced. Moreover, in the aspects of teaching and learning methods, it isclaimed that teachers should understand students as subjects of communicationand construct learning situations in that their intention to communicateis a basis.
