How to Compose a Textbook for Dialect Province

Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to compile six-period teaching materials for the tenth grade students on the basis of the Seventh Curriculum. Dialect is less concerned than standard language. But the importance of dialect is emphasized enough, considering the current confusion of language. This paper is composed of four chapters. Chapter 1, the preface to the textbook, summarizes the importance of dialect and clarifies the necessity of dialect comprehension. Chapter 2, which deals with the concept of dialect, standard language and dialect, the characteristics of dialect, local and social dialects, etc., is focused on the general aspects of dialect. Chapter 3 examines the characteristics of Jeolla-do dialect. The last chapter deals with the confirmation, complement, and application of text. This study will help students understand dialect and take pride in their mother tongue.
