The aim of this research is developing teaching-learning methods for Korean education. In this paper, I analyzed the need of middle and high school teachers and college students, respectively by questionnaire and description report on learning experience on Korean education. The number of teachers is 103. All of them were taking part in their retraining class during 2007~2008. The number of students is 150. The students were asked to describe their experience and impressions in details on Korean education during their middle or high school periods. Through this data or sources, I analyzed the need of both groups and investigate some issue and problems, focusing on teaching-learning methods. The teacher's guidebook of Korean subject gives some ideas of class to teachers, but our survey shows that most of teachers are not satisfied with the pattern of the methods applied in the guidebook, even though they are satisfied with the guidebook generally. What the most of teachers want is various methods applied in the textbook and showing them how to use the methods. We suggested that the principles of integrating methods and techniques in various ways. I suggested some directions for teaching-learning methods, and then applied it to analyze the classes used the most common 7 methods such as Direct Instruction, Response Oriented Method, Problem-solving M., Jigsaw, Role-play, Creativity Development M. and Value Education M. We also suggested some ideas to overcome the current issues on teaching methods and to develop them. One of them is to integrate the model(s) and technique(s) considering the variables such as teacher, learner, aims and contents, surroundings and conditions.
