Study on Systematizing Grammatical Knowledge System Through Grammatical Terms (I)：PhonologyKim, Ho-jungPark, Jae-hyunKim, Eun-sungNam, Ka-youngGrammatical terms function as a useful tool while we explore, describe, and explain grammatical phenomena. And They are also the systematic concept of knowledge that results from the questing process. Therefore grammatical terms are not just limited to issues of the terms but are linked to the knowledge structure. Then, does the grammatical terms in the grammar textbook properly conduct their role as language of exploring grammatical phenomena and language of instrument? The present study starts with these searching questions. And as a start, this study critically reviews the systematization of grammatical terms in the textbooks of 4th to 7th National Curriculum and presents their alternatives.Through the critical review of organization and ways of description of grammatical terms, these three problems have emerged. First, the ‘phone’, the actual realization of sound, and ‘phoneme’, the abstract realization of sound, are not distinctively described and systematized. Second, the subcategory of ‘phonological transition’ such as ‘sound intervention’, ‘syllable cessation rules’, ‘assimilation’ and ‘glottalization’ are not orderly organized. Third, the description and systematization of Korean ‘suprasegmental phoneme’ system also not well organized. To resolve these problems, first, the concept of phone and phoneme need to be clearly explained, second, flat description of the traditional form of should be reorganized to promote hierarchical understanding, third, in the description of ‘sound change’ the systematization as well as new nomenclature have to be established. The present study configurationally presents the alternative grammatical terms on Korean phonology using the mind map of Thinkwise 5.0. program.
