중학생의 쓰기 동기에 영향을 미치는 요인

초록

이 글은 중학생의 쓰기 동기에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여, 전국에서 일곱 개의 중학교를 선정하여 1,192명의 연구 대상을 선정하고 설문지를 조사·분석하였다. 이 글에서 분석된 쓰기 동기에 영향을 미치는 요인은 네 가지이다. 협력적 상호작용, 쓰기 효능감, 경쟁적 노력, 도전심이 그것이다. 이 요인들은 전체 변량의 57.857%를 설명할 수 있는데, 첫째 요인인 협력적 상호작용은 38.040%의 설명력을 지님으로써 가장 중요한 요인으로 밝혀졌다. 이는 중학교에서 이루어지는 쓰기 교수-학습의 내용 및 방법과 밀접한 관련이 있는 것으로 보인다. 쓰기 효능감은 상대적으로 설명력이 떨어지는 것으로 분석되었다. 쓰기 동기 영향 요인에 존재하는 성별 차이와 학년별 차이도 확인되었다. 남학생보다는 여학생이 통계적으로 더 높은 점수를 얻음으로써 쓰기 동기가 더 긍정적이며, 다른 학년보다는 1학년 학생 필자의 쓰기 동기가 더 긍정적임을 보였다. 2, 3학년은 통계적 차이가 없었지만, 학년이 올라갈수록 쓰기 동기 점수가 떨어지는 경향이 확인되었는데, 이는 쓰기 동기가 점점 부정적으로 변화함을 보여주는 것이다. 쓰기 동기에 영향을 미치는 요인을 고려함으로써, 또한 남녀의 차이 및 학년의 차이를 고려함으로써 더 효율적인 쓰기 교수-학습을 설계하고 시행할 수 있을 것이다.
