독서 동기와 몰입 독서의 영향에 관한 비판적 고찰

초록

이 논문은 독서 동기와 몰입 독서의 영향에 관한 기존의 연구 결과를 고찰하고 비판적 논의를 전개하는 것을 그 목적으로 한다. 체계화된 논의를 위하여 서론에 이은 Ⅱ장에서는 독서 독기와 몰입 독서의 개념을 간략히 검토하였다. 이 논문의 논의는 독서 동기가 독서 행위를 불러일으키고 이를 지속하고 조절하는 독자 내부의 힘이며, 몰입 독서는 내재적 동기를 통해 독자가 독서 행위에 인지적으로 또 정의적으로 깊게 몰입하는 현상이라는 개념을 바탕으로 하고 있다. 본문격인 Ⅲ장에서는 몰입 독서와 독서 동기의 영향에 관한 기존 연구 결과를 크게 세 가지 범주―1) 독서 빈도나 독서 시간, 독서량 측면의 효과, 2) 독해 능력과 성취 측면의 영향, 3) 정서적인 혜택―으로 나누어 검토하였다. 이어 Ⅳ장에서는 두 가지 쟁점을 중심으로 이 분야의 연구 결과를 비판적으로 수용하여야 할 필요성에 대해 논의하였다. 종결부인 Ⅴ장에서는 이 논문의 논의를 요약하고 향후 연구할 과제를 다음 다섯 가지로 정리하여 제시하였다. ① 몰입 독서와 독서 성취 간의 관계를 규명하는 연구 ② 몰입 독서에 영향을 주는 요인에 관한 연구 ③ 몰입형 독자나 몰입 독서의 본질에 관한 질적 연구 ④ 몰입 독서나 몰입형 독자에 관한 문학 교육 측면의 연구 ⑤ 독서의 정의적 영역에 대한 다양한 연구의 필요성
