교육대학교 학생들의 쓰기에 대한 인식 조사 연구

초록

이 연구는 교육대학교 학생들의 쓰기에 대한 인식을 탐색하는 데에 목적이 있다. 이 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 전국의 5개 교육대학교 1학년～3학년 588명 학생들에게 쓰기에 대한 인식을 묻는 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 조사 결과 교육대학교 학생들은 대체로 쓰기 개념에 있어 자신의 입장을 전달하는 것으로 파악하고 있었으며, 사회적 소통의 측면은 상대적으로 미약하게 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 쓰기의 목적에 있어서, 교육대학교 학생들은 ‘자신의 정서를 표현하기 위해서’ 쓰기를 잘 해야 한다고 생각하면서, 쓰기가 ‘생각과 느낌을 표현’하는 데에 유용하다고 판단하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 대다수의 교육대학교 학생들은 쓰기가 중요하다고 인식하고 있어 쓰기 교육의 필요성에 대해서는 공감하고 있었으나, 정작 자신의 쓰기 능력은 그리 높지 않은 수준이어도 된다고 인식하고 있어 필자로서의 자신의 모습과 쓰기를 지도할 예비 교사로서의 자신의 모습을 분리하여 판단하는 것으로 확인되었다. 교육대학교 학생들의 이와 같은 인식은 대체로 계열, 학년, 성별과 무관한 것으로 확인되었다. 교사의 쓰기에 대한 인식은 장차 자신의 교수-학습에 영향을 미치기 때문에, 현재의 교육대학교 학생들의 인식은 개선할 필요가 있는 것으로 보인다. 이에 이 연구에서는 교육대학교 학생 스스로가 필자로서 올바른 쓰기 인식을 가질 수 있도록 도울 필요가 있으며, 교육대학교 학생들이 초등학생 필자의 쓰기를 지도하는 데에 필요한 지식을 가질 수 있도록 도울 필요가 있음을 제안하였다.
