국어교육에서의 교수학적 내용 지식: 혼란, 쟁점, 그리고 잠정적 해결 방안

초록

본 논문은 Shulman 시기와 현대적 맥락에서 교수학적 내용 지식(PCK)을 검토한다. 한국 문식성 교육에서 PCK에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있음에도 불구하고, 이 개념을 둘러싼 미해결 쟁점과 혼란이 여전히 존재한다. 본 논문은 이러한 문제를 제기하며 잠정적 해결 방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. PCK는 내용과 교수법이라는 전통적 이원적 전문 체계를 극복하기 때문에 교육 연구자와 실천가가 선호하는 유용한 틀이다. 또한 PCK를 갖춘 교사가 그렇지 않은 교사보다 교수 역할에 더 적합하다는 과학적 증거도 있다. 그러나 PCK에 쟁점과 비판이 없는 것은 아니다. 첫째, PCK 개념 자체의 문제가 있다. PCK는 모호한 개념이어서 교육 연구자들이 다양한 해석을 제공한다. 약 30년 전에 제안된 이후 PCK는 학습과 수업의 새로운 관점을 반영하지 못했으며, 교사의 평가, 메타인지, 전문적 판단이 원래 개념에서 누락되었다. 둘째, 국어교육의 특성상 언어 사용 영역에서 PCK를 개념화하기 어렵다. 지식의 변환, 적응, 성찰 단계를 강조하여 이러한 쟁점에 대한 잠정적 해결책으로 새로운 PCK 모델을 제안한다. 이 모델은 국어교육에서 교사 지식의 역동적이고 맥락화된 상호작용적 성격을 포착할 수 있다.
