텍스트 위계화를 위한 텍스트 질적 평가 방안 연구 －2007 개정 국어 교과서를 중심으로－

초록

이 연구는 읽기 텍스트 위계화 방안을 마련하고자 텍스트 질적 평가 방안을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 특히, 양적 이독성 공식을 통한 텍스트 위계화 방안의 한계를 극복하고 적정 학년 수준을 정확하게 측정하기 위한 텍스트 질적 평가 방안을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 2010년 미국 공통 중핵 교육과정(CCSS)에서 제안하고 있는 텍스트 복잡도 모형에 근거하여 질적 평가를 시행하였다. 2007 개정 국어 교과서를 중심으로 하여, 학년 간 혹은 학교급 간의 중복 제재 9종을 중심으로 하여 1) 글의 의도, 2) 글의 구조, 3) 언어의 관습성과 명료성, 4) 지식 요구의 4개 질적 요인에 대한 평가를 시행하였다. 이때 캔자스 주(州) 교육부에서 제공하는 정보 텍스트와 문학 텍스트 대상 루브릭 2종을 번역하여 평가를 시행하였다. 평가 결과, 9종의 읽기 제재의 학년 수준은 1개 학년 수준 정도에서 차이를 보였다. 텍스트 질적 평가를 개선하기 위해서는 텍스트 효과와 그래픽 사용과 질적 지수의 관계를 명확히 설정하고, 낱말 풀이 등의 요소를 어떻게 반영할 것인지를 구체화할 필요가 있다. 또한 텍스트 질적 지수를 활용하여 학년 수준을 적정화하는 구체적인 방안을 모색하여야 한다. 마지막으로 동일 제제인 경우 공통 질적 요인을 설정하여 동일 점수를 부여하는 방법에 대한 모색이 필요하다.
